Kevin Johnson has stepped down as Corofin senior football manager.
The Maroon & White Pod is reporting that the Sligo native has bowed out in the wake of Corofin's surprise Connacht club SFC quarter-final loss to Padraig Pearses earlier this month. It came after the five-time All-Ireland club champions retained their Galway SFC crown at Moycullen's expense.
Johnston, who spent three years at the Corofin helm, previous led Tourlestrane to Sligo SFC honours in 2021 and Ballintubber to back-to-back Mayo SFC crowns in 2018 and 2019.
The secondary school teacher has also coached Salthill-Knocknacarra and Mountbellew-Moylough in Galway,
