Loughmore-Castleiney hit two goals in the space of three minutes to sink Kilruane MacDonaghs on a 2-22 to 1-19 scoreline in Thurles and move into the last four of the Tipperary senior hurling championship.

With the sides having gone in at the break honours even (0-11 to 0-11), it was Kilruane that landed the first major blow via a well taken Willie Cleary goal that had them 1-13 to 0-12 to the good in the 36th minute.

John McGrath pulled back a free for 2021 champions ahead of a Ciaran McCormack capitalising on stray puck out from and slamming the sliotar to the MacDonaghs' net.

Come the 41st minute the same green flag would be raised after Liam McGrath got in for his side’s second goal, making it 2-13 to 1-14.

Kilruane would get it level again but their counterparts pucked over the last five points of the game to leave themselves 60 minutes away from another county final.
