Dónal Óg Cusack will be part of the new Cork U20 hurling management team.
The three-time All-Ireland SHC winning goalkeeper and RTÉ panellist was ratified as coach in new manager Noel Furlong's backroom team last night. A former Cork minor manager, Cusack will also be joined by selectors Sean Guiheen, Vincent Hurley and Tadhg Óg Murphy. The new management has been appointed for a two-year term.
It was announced last month that Furlong, who led the Rebels to Munster and All-Ireland MHC success in 2021 and served as a senior selector the following year, would be succeeding Ben O'Connor - who didn't seek a further extension - as U20 manager. Former county star O’Connor guided Cork to All-Ireland U20 glory last year. They reached the Munster final this year, only to lose to Tipperary in highly controversial circumstances.
