Galway manager Padraic Joyce has handed defender Kieran Molloy his first start in a year-and-a-half for this afternoon’s Allianz Football League derby clash with Mayo.
Injury setbacks, which included the dreaded cruciate knee curse, mean that Molloy hasn't featured for the Tribesmen since the team's 2022 All-Ireland SFC final defeat to Kerry at Croke Park.
The Corofin clubman is named at left half-back for today's Division 1 round one meeting at Pearse Stadium where the hosts will be looking to hand the holders an opening defeat.
Throw-in in Salthill is at 1.45pm.
