Former Mayo U21 All-Ireland winning manager Mike Solan will take up the Tourlestrane football reins in 2024.
Solan, who was fellow Ballaghaderreen man Andy Moran’s assistant in Leitrim in 2022 and ’23, succeeds former Roscommon captain and manager Fergal O’Donnell in the role. Tourlestrane’s bid for an eight-in-a-row of Sligo SFC titles ended in cruel circumstances last year, with Coolera/Strandhill going to lift the Owen B Hunt Cup.
A club statement read: "Tourlestrane GAA would like to thank Fergal O’Donnell and his management team for their work over the past two years with our senior footballers.
"Under Fergal’s guidance, our senior team won their seventhth senior title in a row in 2022, and also got to the club’s first Connacht Senior Football Championship final in 40 years.
"Following a meeting of the club executive, it has been confirmed that Mike Solan will take charge of the senior men’s team for 2024."
