Newry to host Kilmacud-Glen New Year blockbuster

Páirc Esler in Newry has been chosen as the venue for the eagerly-awaited AIB All-Ireland Club SFC semi-final between Kilmacud Crokes and Glen.

The game on Sunday, January 7 is a repeat of last January’s controversial All-Ireland Club SFC final which Crokes won with a 16th player on the pitch. The CCCC ordered a replay nine days later before Glen withdrew their appeal against the result.

There had been some speculation that the game would take place in Croke Park, but the CCCC have opted for Newry instead.

FBD Semple Stadium will host the other semi-final between Connacht champions St Brigid’s and Munster winners Castlehaven on the same day.

AIB GAA Football All-Ireland Senior Club Championship semi-finals

St. Brigid's (Roscommon) v Castlehaven (Cork), FBD Semple Stadium, Thurles, 1.45pm.
