St Loman’s hopes of beating Emmet Óg Killoe in Sunday’s Leinster Club SFC quarter-final have been boosted by the news that Shane Dempsey has had his red card rescinded.

The corner forward was issued with straight red card by Laois referee Seamus Mulhare for a high challenge on Simon Donohue during the closing stages of the Westmeath champions’ first round win over Shelmaliers. However, Dempsey had it downgraded to a black card at a Leinster Council hearing this week.

The decision means that Dempsey will be able to line out against the Longford kingpins – who ironically are managed by former St Loman’s boss Luke Dempsey – at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park.
