Roscommon LGFA has issued an apology to its outgoing intermediate management team over their controversial removal last month.

Ollie Lennon and his management team consisting of twin brothers Tom and Brian Lennon as well as John Kennedy, were told their services were no longer required after a review was carried out by the county board without the Roscommon captain and vice-captain being consulted as part of the process.

“Roscommon LGFA wishes to apologise to former adult team manager, Ollie Lennon, and members of his backroom team for any recent hurt or distress caused," a post on Facebook last night read.

“We thank Ollie and his backroom team for their service to Roscommon LGFA and we wish them the very best in the future.

“Roscommon LGFA also regrets any unintended hurt or distress to county team players, in light of recent events."
