Yesterday’s London SFC semi-final between Fulham Irish and St Kiernan’s in Ruislip was abandoned due to a serious injury.
Time was almost up when Fulham Irish forward Fionntan Eastwood sustained the injury as his side went in search of an equalising point. In a repeat of the last two finals, three-in-a-row chasing St Kiernan’s were leading 1-12 to 1-11 when the game was stopped. Following a long delay, Eastwood was removed to hospital by ambulance and the game was abandoned, with the replay expected to be fixed for next weekend.
In the other semi-final, traditional giants Tir Chonaill Gaels powered to a 2-14 to 1-7 victory over first-time semi-finalists North London Shamrocks.
Match abandoned. The right call.
