Holders Crossmaglen are through to the Armagh SFC final after overcoming Madden in the second semi-final yesterday.

The result was in doubt until a late Cian McConville goal sealed a 1-17 to 0-14 victory for the black and ambers, and a sixth final appearance in-a-row. Brothers Oisín and Rian O’Neill scored 0-10 between them in a game that was finely poised at 0-7 apiece at half-time.

Madden moved in front with points from Niall Grimley and Oisín O’Hara after the restart before Oisín O’Neill’s fourth edged Cross’ 0-12 to 0-11 ahead with nine minutes remaining. Madden regained parity before three unanswered points from O’Neill (two) and Jamie Clarke gave the winners breathing space, and McConville settled it with his injury-time strike.

Standing between Cross’ and another Gerry Fagan Cup are Clan na Gael who defeated Lurgan rivals Clann Éireann 0-14 to 1-9 after extra-time on Saturday night.
