Cargin’s goals proved the difference as they defeated Dunloy by 2-10 to 0-11 at Corrigan Park this afternoon to retain their Antrim senior football championship title.

Conhuir Johnston hammered in the holders’ first goal on the eve of half-time to see them edge a 1-3 to 0-5 interval lead.

Bidding for their first senior football crown in 87 years, Dunloy crept back in front after the turnaround thanks to a couple of Conal Cunning points.

Tomas McCann levelled the decider before Pat Shivers and Sean O’Neill raised more white flags and another Johnston goal would have Cargin 2-6 to 0-8 with 10 minutes remaining in west Belfast.

Cunning and Seaan Elliott pulled back points for Dunloy but Cargin were able to see out the sweet triumph with scores from Shivers and McCann down the home stretch, marking a 12th SFC success for the club.
