Crusheen moved into their first Clare senior hurling championship final in nine years after recording a 1-24 to 0-19 win over Scariff at Cusack Park.

Fergus Kennedy’s early second-half goal helped Aidan Harte’s side usher themselves towards an eight-point victory and, with it, a decider date against either Clonlara or Feakle who clash tomorrow at the Ennis venue (1pm).

The winners started strongly and had a 0-10 to 0-5 lead built up by the 10th minute and would go on to stretch their advantage to seven by the interval.

Kennedy was set-up by Breffni Horner for the net five minutes into the restart and that left Scariff with a mountain to try and climb.

Clare star Mark Rodgers, who finished with 0-8, sent over score to reduce the deficit but substitute Luke Ketelaar, Oisin O’Donnell, Cillein Mullins and Horner all sailed over points to seal Crusheen final place.
