Gaoth Dobhair are through to the Donegal senior football championship final for the first in four years thanks to a 3-9 to 0-11 win over Sean McCumhaills at O’Donnell Park.

Well-timed goals were what made the difference for the 2018 Ulster champions, with a brace of early points from Ethan Harkin (one a free) being backed up by Odhran MacNaillais penalty on seven minutes.

Oisin Gallen’s points helped to pull Sean McCumhaills back into the semi-final clash but they’d still go in trailing at the break by 1-6 to 0-4 after points late in the half from Ethan O hEarcain (2) and Daire O Baolill.

O hEarcain would have the ball in the Twin Towns men’s net four minutes into the restart to widen the margin to seven ahead of scores at the other end via Joel Bradley Walsh and the in-form Gallen (2).

With a quarter of an hour remaining, Stiofan Donna Mac Phaidin fired in Gaoth Dobhair’s third goal that all but sealed their final berth against either Naomh Conaill or St Eunan’s who face off tomorrow.
