Former Dublin star Ger Brennan is the new Louth senior football manager.
The two-time All-Ireland winning defender from St Vincent's was ratified for a two-year term at last night's county board meeting with the option of a third year subject to a review. His appointment comes just a fortnight after Mickey Harte's sudden departure for Derry.
Brennan, who was involved with Carlow two years ago, has assembled an impressive backroom team that includes former two-time Down manager James McCartan, Professor Niall Moyna, who was part of Pat Gilroy's backroom team when Dublin won the 2011 All-Ireland SFC title, former Kildare and Moorefield player David Whyte and ex-Irish rugby international James Downey.
