Ballymacarbry's remarkable dominance of the Waterford ladies football scene continued yesterday when they were crowned senior champions for a 42nd consecutive year.

Ballymac' were pushed all the way by Comeragh Rangers before eventually prevailing by 1-9 to 0-10 after extra-time. The long-time champions have been unbeaten in county finals since 1982 and have defeated Comeragh in 10 of the last 11 deciders.

Kellyann Hogan scored five points, while Karen McGrath's punched goal just before half-time were crucial to the outcome. Three of Hogan's points came in extra-time after it finished 1-6 to 0-9 at the end of normal time.
