Sean MacCumhaills are through to the semi-finals of the Donegal senior football championship after securing a late victory over Glenswilly (1-17 to 1-14) at O’Donnell Park.

County man Oisin Gallen led the way for the winners with 1-9 over the hour, including two points in the closing stages in Letterkenny that saw them over the line.

Sean MacCumhaills were forced to come from seven points down in this one, having trailed by 1-9 to 0-5 after Michael Murphy’s goal hit their net in the 29th minute.

All-Star nominee Gallen got a goal back for his team before the break though, which trimmed the deficit to three come half-time, and after the turnaround it was the Twin Towns men that pushed on.

The scoreboard would read 1-14 apiece with four minutes remaining before Gallen nailed two pressure frees and added another point from play to secure Sean MacCumhaills’ semi-final spot.
