Dunloy are through to their first Antrim senior football championship final since 1941 thanks to a 2-8 to 0-10 win against Portglenone in Dunsilly last night.

First-half goals from Karl Fitzpatrick and Nigel Elliott were key as the Cuchullains club stayed on course for a senior football and hurling championship double in the Saffron County.

Those goals gave Dunloy a 2-3 to 0-6 lead at the halfway stage before Portglenone narrowed the gap and closed via Paddy Kelly’s fourth point of the night, leaving it all square with 12 minutes to go.

Antrim stars Seaan Elliott and Conal Cunning raised white flags in response before Chrissy McMahon pushed the winners three clear and Nigel Elliott ensured the victory late on.

Dunloy now away the winners of holders Cargin and St Brigid's, who play on Sunday (2pm), as they chase their first SFC crown in 87 long years.
