Slaughtneil manager Michael McShane says Chrissy McKaigue is a doubt for his team heading into this weekend’s Derry senior hurling championship final against Kevin Lynch’s.

Sunday’s clash in Owenbeg is set to mark the fifth consecutive decider date between the two clubs, with Slaughtneil aiming for a remarkable 11th title in-a-row.

Derry dual star McKaigue is the main concern ahead of the showdown, with McShane stating this week that he will not be risked unless 100 per cent fit.

“We came through last weekend without picking up any further injuries,” the Slaughtneil boss told BelfastLive.co.uk.

“Chrissy (McKaigue) had a bit of a niggle and he didn’t play last Sunday. We will assess it during the week and see where he is.

“If he is fit to play, he will. If he is not alright, we’ll have to get on with it. If he is fit to play, he’ll want to play as he’ll not want to miss out.”
