All of the Offaly football and hurling managers for 2024 were ratified at night’s county board meeting, with the exception of the U20 football manager.

Following a proposal by Offaly GAA's Management Committee, 2021 All-Ireland U20 winning manager Declan Kelly was appointed as the Faithful's new senior football boss along with selector Vinny Mooney (Shannonbridge) and selector / coaches Ciaran Kilmurray (St Loman’s) and David Connolly (Bracknagh).

Johnny Kelly, Leo O’Connor, Enda Mulhare and Roger Ryan were also given the green light to remain on as senior hurling, U20 hurling, minor hurling and minor football managers respectively for another year, with some changes expected to be made to Kelly's backroom team.

The U20 football post, which was occupied by Ken Furlong this year, will be filled at the October county board meeting.

Meanwhile, Offaly GAA chairman Michael Duignan hopes to 'double job' next year after declaring his intention to run for Central Council at county convention on December 12.

The Durrow clubman has a year left to run as chairman, but would end up serving two roles for 12 months if his bid to replace outgoing Central Council representative Paddy Scales is successful.
