Paul Curran expects Dessie Farrell to continue as Dublin football manager and to keep nine-time All-Ireland SFC medallists Stephen Cluxton, James McCarthy, and Michael Fitzsimons on board for another year.

Farrell won his second Sam Maguire as a manager in July and his former team-mate feels it's crucial that he stays.

"Nothing will change next year if he stays. I think he will, yeah," Curran told gaa.ie at Leinster GAA's Beko Club Champion launch.

I'd be surprised if he doesn't go on for another year. I think he's 'contracted' for another year anyway. So, yeah, I would fully expect him to stay on.

“I think if Dessie stays on, I think he’ll try and keep everybody on board…if Dessie goes himself there’s going to be big changes."

He added: “The big ones are obviously the guys with nine medals. Will the three of them come back? I'd surprised if any of them don't. Cluxton is the one. I think the other two will definitely stay on. Cluxton, you never know.”
