Ferbane and Edenderry complete Offaly SFC semi-final line-up

Offaly and Edenderry star Cian Farrell

Ferbane and Edenderry marched into the semi-finals of the Offaly senior football championship thanks to their respective quarter-finals wins earlier today.

Ferbane were comfortable in a 3-15 to 0-7 victory over Bracknagh at Glenisk O’Connor Park, where they’d led by a dozen points at the halfway stage.

Darragh Flynn netted the 2019 winners’ first goal after 19 minutes and two more majors came after the turnaround via Jack Clancy as they sealed their berth in the last four in impressive fashion.

Cian Farrell’s late point ensured that Edenderry would be joining them there as they edged out Durrow by 1-11 to 2-7 later in the day at the same Tullamore venue.

The east Offaly men looked to be headed for the exit door early in the second-half, as Ciaran Burke’s goal had Durrow in a commanding 2-7 to 0-4 lead.

However, Farrell’s frees kept Edenderry in touch and goal from Cillian Lowry on 46 minutes had them back to within two points.

The closing stages would eventually see them get level before county man Farrell sailed over the winner in the second minute of injury-time, which sees Edenderry joining Ferbane, Tullamore and holders Rhode in tomorrow evening’s semi-final draw (7.30pm).
