Naomh Eanna captain Conor McDonald has come in for praise after passing over the traditional ‘three cheers’ for Oylegate-Glenbrien in his Wexford SHC final acceptance speech.
Asking for ‘three cheers’ for the losing team is viewed as patronising by many, including the county star who instead asked for a round of applause after leading the Gorey men to a 2-18 to 2-12 victory at Chadwicks Wexford Park.
No doubt, the gesture was appreciated by a crestfallen Oylegate-Glenbrien who were appearing in their first Dr RJ Bowe Cup decider in 60 years.
Tweet"I absolutely hate three cheers and I hate being on the receiving end of them, so a massive round of applause for Oylegate".

Yes! Three cheers/hip hip hooray after losing a match is THE WORST.
