Donegal county board have called a special committee meeting for tomorrow (Monday) night.

The meeting, which has been brought forward from September 2nd, has been arranged with just one item on the agenda and that is an update on the appointment of a new senior football manager.

Reports are that 2012 All-Ireland winning manager Jim McGuinness has agreed on a deal in principle to return to the Tir Chonaill County’s hotseat.

Today (Sunday) Donegal county board requested delegates to attend Monday evening’s meeting at 7.30pm in Convoy to discuss "an update on the deliberations of the Senior Football Manager’s Selection Committee".

McGuinness stepped down as Donegal boss nine years ago, having steered his county to Sam Maguire Cup glory as well as three Ulster titles and an Allianz League Division 2 crown.
