Former Thomas Davis and Naas manager Paul Kelly is believed to be in the running to become the next Laois senior football manager.
Kelly, who led Thomas Davis to a Dublin SFC final appearance in 2019 and then went on to manage Naas - only to resign just days before their 2021 Kildare SFC semi-final win over Maynooth - has also been linked with the vacancy in Offaly, but that is set to be filled by his namesake Declan, who led the Faithful to All-Ireland U20 glory in 2021 and is currently putting his backroom team together.
Laois have been on the lookout for a new manager since Billy Sheehan stepped down after two years in charge six weeks ago. It was a largely disappointing season for the O'Moore County who narrowly missed out on promotion from Division 4 of the Allianz League before suffering a 27-point drubbing at the hands of Dublin the Leinster SFC.
They then went on a run to the semi-finals of the Tailteann Cup where another crushing defeat to Down ended their season.
