Paddy Christie has been ratified as Longford senior football manager for a second year.

The former Dublin full back was reappointed at last night's county board meeting along with the rest of his backroom team, except for Michael Kenny who has stepped down from his role as a selector.

Christie's reign got off to a great start when Longford won the O'Byrne Cup last January. However, they were subsequently relegated to Division 4 of the Allianz League and were knocked out of the Leinster SFC and Tailteann Cup by Offaly and Down respectively.

Westmeath's Adrian Moran has also been reappointed as Longford senior hurling manager for a third season.
