Racing icon Johnny Murtagh was a proud man after his daughters Lauren and Grace won All-Ireland intermediate ladies football medals with Kildare yesterday.
The five-time Irish Jockey Champion-turned trainer was in Croke Park to see the Lilywhites withstand a late rally from Clare to claim the Mary Quinn Memorial Cup. Lauren lined out at wing back, while Grace was among the subs as Diane O'Hora's side held on for a 2-11 to 2-10 victory.
Lauren and Grace are granddaughters of All-Ireland-winning Tipperary hurler and manager Michael 'Babs' Keating who, no doubt, was also very proud of their achievement.
