Mayo are on the lookout for a new senior hurling management team after joint-managers Dave McConn and Tom Phillips stepped down last night (Wednesday).
After the duo’s appointment last October in the wake of Derek Walsh’s departure, Mayo won two and drew one out of five Allianz League outings in Division 3A before losing all five of their games in the Christy Ring Cup.
In a press release circulated last night, Mayo county board chairman Seamus Tuohy thanked both men and their backroom team for their service this past season.
“I would like to thank Dave and Tom and their backroom team for all the work and time they gave to Mayo hurling and, in particular, the way they developed so many new players that have gone on to represent the Mayo senior hurling team,” it read.
