Summerhill's Adam Flanagan with Damien Carroll Ballinabrackey during the Meath SFC clash at Clonard

Ballinabrackey 0-7 Summerhill 2-12

The first rounds of championship kicked off all across Meath this weekend and Ballinabrackey faced Summerhill in Clonard for their first championship game of the year.

Ballinabrackey settled the nerves with the first point from play from Danny Quinn but Summerhill quickly answered back with 3 scores, two from play and one from a free. Nicky Judge as alway solid in defence made his way from corner back to get a great score from play. The Bracks took the next few scores with points coming from Danny Quinn, Damien Carroll and Barry Thompson. The Bracks went into half time a point up and happy to be ahead after a nervy first half from both sides. Half time score Ballinabrackey 0:05 Summerhill 0:04.

Ballinabrackey looked promising from the throw up when the ball was moved well up to Danny Quinn who got a point from play to put us two ahead but unfortunately this was the last time we took the lead in this game. The Bracks were two points ahead when Ballinabrackey got in for a goal chance but missed and Summerhill went through the gears and picked up the pace from here on. They scored 2:05 without reply where Barry Dardis, Conor Lyons and Frayne made difficult work for the Bracks. Danny Quinn got our last point from a free and Summerhill kicked 3 more scores at ease in what was a bitterly disappointing second half for Ballinabrackey. Full time score Ballinabrackey 0:07 Summerhill 2:12.
