Kerry boss Jack O’Connor envisages his side’s All-Ireland SFC final showdown against Dublin as being “a pretty open” clash between the two rivals.

The blockbuster decider will see the Kingdom looking to make it back-to-back Sam Maguire Cup for first time since 2007, while the Dubs are looking to end a three-year drought for the crown having dominated the past decade.

Speaking to GAA.ie this week, O’Connor does not expect a cagey encounter at headquarters in nine days’ time.

“There’s no secret in the fact that both teams want to play on the front foot," he said.

"We feel we’re at our best on the front foot. Dublin are an awesome attacking unit when they get their game going.

“I’m sure both sides will be trying to batten down the hatches a bit better than we certainly were doing against Derry, but I’d expect it to be a pretty open enough game.

“There is great tradition between the two teams. A tradition of playing positive football. I can’t see that changing."
