Dublin GAA has rubberstamped the appointment of Finbarr O’Mahony as successor to the long-serving John Costello as CEO.
The current county board treasurer, who hails from the St Patrick’s club in Palmerstown and is an accountant by profession, will take over the full-time role on November 1 when Costello retires. Costello has held the position since 1994, during which Gaelic Games became the dominant sport in the capital.
“I congratulate Finbarr on his appointment,” Dublin GAA chairman Mick Seavers said in a statement.
“We wish him every success in the years ahead with the full support of the Dublin GAA community.”
