Brian Flanagan has stepped down as Kildare U20 football manager just a few weeks after delivering an All-Ireland title.
The Johnstownbridge clubman, who has been touted as a future Kildare senior manager, led the Lilywhites to back-to-back Leinster final wins over Dublin before accounting for Sligo in this year’s All-Ireland final. They also reached the All-Ireland final last year, only to come up short against Tyrone.
Flanagan is currently coaching Meath club side Summerhill alongside manager Conor Gillespie, but could find himself in a senior inter-county post before the summer is out.
