Declan Hannon will miss Limerick's All-Ireland SHC semi-final after suffering a knee injury in the closing stages of last Sunday week's Munster final win over Clare.

Limerick GAA confirmed the news last night which also could also potentially rule the captain out of the All-Ireland final were Limerick to get that far. Kyle Hayes is expected to deputise at centre back in his absence.

"Declan sustained a knee injury during last Sunday’s Munster final that will rule him out for the All-Ireland semi-final in three weeks' time," a Limerick statement read.

"We wish him well in his recovery in the coming weeks and look forward to seeing him back on the field once again."
