Kerry star Sean O’Shea hailed bereaved brothers David and Paudie Clifford following the Kingdom’s Munster SFC final victory over Clare.

After the sad passing of their mother yesterday, the two siblings chose to play in this afternoon’s provincial decider at the TUS Gaelic Grounds and both would net goals in the 5-14 to 0-15 win.

After accepting the Man of the Match award on behalf of team mate David Clifford, who finished with 2-6 to his name, O’Shea said that the Kerry squad "really row in" behind the Clifford brothers after their loss.

"It puts sport into perspective,” he stated. “There are more important things in life than football. It was an incredibly tough day for the two boys.

“We are thinking of them today and their extended family. You couldn't ask for better team-mates."
