Fresh from guiding Portarlington to a three-in-a-row of Laois SFC titles last Sunday, Martin Murphy has agreed to join new Offaly football manager Liam Kearns’ backroom team as a selector.

The Gracefield clubman, whose main focus will be on the Leinster club SFC over the coming weeks, will serve as a selector along with John Rouse, who led Tullamore to Offaly SFC success in 2013. Both men have previously been involved with the Faithful County as selectors.

Kearns’ management will also include former Galway U21 winning manager Alan Flynn, who is in charge of the St Mary’s, Kiltoghert team that will face Mohill in next Sunday’s Leitrim SFC final, ex-Sligo footballer Brendan Egan and former Tipperary goalkeeper and selector Paul Fitzgerald.
