Kerry superstar David Clifford landed seven points to help edge East Kerry past Kenmare Shamrocks (0-13 to 1-7) and into the Kerry SFC semi-finals.
The outright favourites for the Bishop Moynihan Cup needed to dig deep to shake-off a subborn Kenmare side, for whom Clifford's county teammate Sean O'Shea scored 0-5, at Fitzgerald Stadium this afternoon. Paul O’Connor's goal from the penalty spot following a foul on David Hallissey meant Shamrocks led narrowly at the break, 1-3 to 0-5.
East Kerry will face Dingle next Sunday (throw-in 2.30pm), while Mid Kerry's reward for beating Templenoe 0-13 to 0-11 is a last-four meeting with Feale Rangers, who dethroned Austin Stacks, on Saturday (7.15pm). Both games will take place at Austin Stack Park.
