Ronan Blair's penalty goal with two minutes of normal time remaining secured St Patrick’s, Portaferry's 22nd Down senior hurling championship title at Ballycran's expense.
Blair, who helped himself to a personal haul of 1-8, also found the target with two late frees as 'Ferry defeated Ballycran 1-12 to 0-13 at Páirc Esler.
0-7 to 0-9 up at half-time, Ballycran responded well to that setback, two quickfire points brought one between the sides, but Portaferry held firm, despite being reduced to 14-men following captain Connor Mageean's straight red card twelve minutes into the second period.
In the Meath SHC decider at Pairc Tailteann, a James Murray and James Toher-inspired Trim beat Ratoath 1-13 to 1-10.
