There will be considerable Irish interest in Saturday's AFL Grand final.

Portlaoise' Zach Tuohy and Mark O'Connor from Dingle are both hoping to become Premiership champions with Geelong who face Sydney Swans at the MCG. Former Laois minor and U21 Tuohy will make his 250th AFL appearance, while two-time Kerry All-Ireland MFC medallist O'Connor could also feature for the Cats after coming on as a medical substitute for Max Holmes in last weekend's comfortable preliminary final victory over Brisbane Lions.

The pair are just one game away from emulating Listowel's Tadhg Kennelly, who won an AFL Premiership medal with Sydney Swans in 2005 before returning home to claim an All-Ireland SFC medal with Kerry in 2009.
