A 3-2 penalty shoot-out win over Ferbane at O'Connor Park this evening has seen Rhode qualify for an eleventh successive Offaly senior football championship final.
Ferbane, who suffered the same fate against Tullamore in the semi-final two years ago, looked to have done enough in normal-time when Joe Maher clipped over a 60th minute lead free. But four minutes were added and, in the fourth of those, Rhode veteran Niall McNamee kicked a late equaliser to send the game to extra-time, 0-12 to 1-9.
A Shane Nally point for Ferbane in the dying stages forced penalties with the sides deadlocked at 0-17 to 1-14.
Edenderry will meet holders Tullamore in the other semi-final tomorrow.
