Davis stage dramatic second-half comeback to qualify for Dublin SFC quarter-finals

Thomas Davis staged a dramatic second-half comeback to snatch a narrow 2-9 to 2-8 win over last year's runners-up St Jude's, and a place in the Dublin SFC quarter-finals at the expense of their opponents.

Down to 14-men with Mark Nolan receiving a straight red card, Davis looked a beaten docket four minutes from half-time when they trailed by 0-2 to 2-4 against a completely dominant Templeogue outfit.

Liam Connerton (penalty) and Alan Connolly got the St Jude's goals as they went on to lead by 0-4 to 2-5 at the break.

However, Davis were a different animal after the resumption, and Adam Fallon's 39th minute goal was the catalyst that sparked their revival.

In a nail-biting finish at O'Toole Park, Aaron Shorten grabbed a match-winning goal for Ciarán Farrelly's side.

At Parnell Park, Na Fianna comfortably saw off Skerries Harps by 4-15 to 0-5 to advance as Group 3 winners.

Whitehall Colmcille have also reached the last-eight, despite their 1-14 to 1-13 defeat to Lucan Sarsfields at O'Toole Park.

Elsewhere, in Group 4, top-of-the-table Castleknock had eight points to spare over Round Towers of Lusk at Parnell Park (1-11 to 0-6).
