Dublin GAA have announced that Dessie Farrell will continue as the county’s senior football manager until 2024.

Farrell has completed three years in the role and there was plenty of speculation about his future since Dublin lost the All-Ireland SFC semi-final to Kerry last month. It was mooted that he could be replaced in the hot seat following Dublin’s relegation from the Allianz FL Division 1 and two successive All-Ireland semi-final defeats.

Farrell led Dublin to All-Ireland success in 2020 during his first year in the role having succeeded Jim Gavin, who had led the county to five successive Sam Maguire successes..

In a statement today the Dublin County Board said: “Dublin GAA County Committee are pleased to announce that Dessie Farrell will continue as Dublin Senior Football manager for a further two years.”
