John Maughan has brought the curtain down on his four-year reign as Offaly senior football manager.
The Mayo man's departure was widely expected after a disappointing season which saw the Faithful relegated straight back to Division 3 of the Allianz League and beaten by Wexford and Westmeath in the Leinster SFC and Tailteann Cup respectively.
Offaly GAA chairman Michael Duignan had already indicated that Kerry legend Tomás Ó Sé - who joined the Offaly management team last season - would be interested in replacing Maughan in the event of him stepping down.
Last year's All-Ireland U20 winning manager Declan Kelly has ruled himself out due to work commitments.
