Ballygunner hero Harry Ruddle has described winning his club's first All-Ireland title with the last puck of the game as the "best feeling ever."
Ballyhale Shamrocks looked set to seal an historic three-in-a-row of Tommy Moore Cup successes when going two points up in injury-time. But super-sub Ruddle weaved his magic by scoring a spectacular goal to spark wild celebrations among the Ballygunner faithful at Croke Park.
"I seen open road in front of me and there was only one thing on my mind really," Ruddle reflected on his late, late heroics.
"I was just going to take it on because everybody was bunched around the goal, I wasn’t going to get a pass off, so I said I’d go for it.
“I actually didn’t see it hit the net, I just seen everybody, I just seen limbs. I just ran back out and trying to get out to position. I was expecting one more play but the referee blew it up. Best feeling ever."
