Oughterard GAA in Galway has announced the naming of the All-Ireland club IFC trophy in honour of the late Kieran O'Sullivan.

A lifelong Oughterard GAA stalwart as a player and administrator, Kieran passed away in May 2020 after a brave battle with illness.

He was a member of the 1976 All-Ireland minor football championship winning Galway team, lining out at corner-forward against Cork in the final.

The GAA has now recognised Kieran's immense contribution by naming the All-Ireland club IFC trophy in his honour.

Fittingly, it's the same cup that his son Eddie lifted after captaining Oughterard to All-Ireland club IFC glory at Croke Park, four months before Kieran's death.
