Limerick manager John Kiely lauded the work rate and consistency of his team after delivering the county's tenth All-Ireland senior hurling title.

The Treaty men set themselves up for back-to-back final victories by putting together a sensational first-half display against Cork at Croke Park this afternoon.

Kiely is quoted by RTÉ as saying: "It was a fantastic performance, there was great consistency in it from start to finish.

"We worked really hard and I think that’s the one thing I’d be most proud of – how hard we worked collectively as well as individually."

Kiely says the success is just reward for all the hard work of everyone involved.

He added: "Everything that Paul [Kinnerk] has been working with the boys over the last number of months was there to be seen on the field today and that gives great satisfaction to the coaches and ourselves.

"For everybody that’s involved, the work that they’ve all put in behind the scenes, it’s a fantastic reward for that."
