Tony Kelly netted the game's only goal from the penalty spot in Clare's 1-22 to 0-21 victory against Waterford in the Munster SHC quarter-final at Semple Stadium.
The 28th minute strike after Waterford corner-back Shane Fives was sin-binned for a poor challenge on Aron Shanagher was indeed a crucial moment as it gave the Banner County a commanding 1-13 to 0-7 half-time lead they never relinquished.

The closest Waterford got thereafter was three points in injury-time following a flurry of scores from Patrick Curran, Austin Gleeson Stephen Bennett and Mikey Kearney.
Kelly was brilliant, as usual, and top-scored with 1-12, while John Conlon superbly marshalled a rock-solid Clare defence at centre-back.
