Waterford have been dealt a double blow to their Munster SHC title hopes, as captain Conor Prunty and three-time All-Star Jamie Barron are both ruled out of Sunday's quarter-final against Clare.
Prunty and Barron picked up quad injuries in training and will play no part in the Semple Stadium clash, having been omitted from Liam Cahill's 26-man match-day squad.
Conor Gleeson slots into full-back as a replacement for Prunty, while Darragh Lyons fills the void left by Barron in midfield.
There is better news concerning Shane Fives and Austin Gleeson, who have both now fully recovered from injuries sustained in the recent win over Tipperary.
