O'Connor's season ended by Achilles rupture

James Horan has confirmed that Cillian O’Connor will not take part in Mayo’s championship campaign after undergoing surgery on a ruptured Achilles tendon.
The All Star forward limped out of his county’s Allianz FL Division 2 semi-final against Clare and Mayo’s worst fears about their marque forward have come to pass.
"Cillian is out for the foreseeable future so that will probably be for the season," Mayo manager James Horan told RTE.
"It’s a blow for Cillian obviously on a personal level but it is what it is.”
