Former Leitrim footballer and Melvin Gaels captain Emlyn Mulligan has completed a move to Sligo outfit St Mary's for the 2021 season.

He has been living in Sligo for some time now and will link up with fellow Leitrim man Aidan Rooney who is manager of the Kent Park outfit.

The 33-year-old forward stepped away from the Leitrim squad in 2019 and joined Benny Guckian's minor football backroom team as a selector.

It's not the first time Mulligan has transferred away from Melvin Gaels, having switched to St Brigid's in Dublin in 2013 before returning to his native club four years later.
