Cork dual star Aidan Walsh has announced his retirement from the inter-county game.
Walsh was part of the Rebels’ 2010 All-Ireland SFC winning side and won Young Footballer of the Year award, as well as an All Star, for his performances that season.
Two years later, the Kanturk native won a Munster senior title with the county’s footballers and went on to pick up another All Star award at centre-field.
Walsh’s last two seasons have seen him lining-out with Cork hurlers and his retirement comes after fellow Kanturk clubman Anthony Nash announced his retirement from inter-county hurling.
"Was a pleasure and a privilege to get the opportunity to wear the red and white of Cork,” Walsh posted on social media.
"Enjoyed every minute of it and made life long friends along the way. Thanks to all my family and friends. I look forward to the next challenge and representing my club for as long as possible."
TweetCork GAA would like to thank Aidan for his many years of service for both the Cork Hurling and Football teams.
