It is being reported tonight that Sligo are unable to field a team in Saturday's Connacht SFC semi-final and so a walkover has been given to opponents Galway for the clash in Salthill.

The Sligo footballers have become the latest side to be affected by Covid-19 after the county board confirmed a number of squad members tested positive for the coronavirus.

There has been no official confirmation from either Sligo GAA or Connacht GAA yet tonight but it is believed the Yeats County have withdrawn from the fixture.

A walkover means Padraig Joyce's Galway will now begin their championship campaign in the provincial final on November 15, against the winners of Sunday's last four tie between holders Roscommon and Mayo.
